Wood At Work 2021: Roundtable on Global Sustainable Timber Innovations

Glasgow, Scotland

November 3, 2021

13:00-17:00 GMT

This year Wood at Work is going to Glasgow for COP26! The gathering will be held at the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre, and will include guided tours of the Partner Forest Boardwalk and Innovation Centre manufacturing facilities, along with lunch and coffee from our Partner Forests Coffee Truck.  Our guests will also be treated to a live demonstration of a WoodMizer LT40 sawmill where local wood will be milled for our group to use. The event will be live-streamed for those wishing to attend virtually (but you will miss the smell of fresh-cut larch, cedar and ash!)

The conference will provide an opportunity for an intimate in-person event for COP26 attendees from around the world, and to hear from a wide range of global innovators linking the use of wood with urbanization, architecture, climate change, forestry and forest conservation. Our event will host a series of short presentations from the far corners of wood innovation discourse. Keeping with the Wood at Work tradition we will have a roundtable on the latest thinking on the global potential of wood for low-carbon construction and improved forest stewardship.

Please register here for the event here.

There's much more to forests than wood products! Wood at Work will be joined this year by our Partner Forests Coffee Truck, where we will serve forest-positive foods throughout the COP26 event.

We are proud to have the support of Wood Mizer, who will be running sawmill demonstrations at the CSIC site.

Discussions will address key Pathways to supporting global forests through wood products outlined in our co-created Sustainable Wood for Cities platform.
